Volunteer Hours

Every student must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The purpose of the community involvement requirement is to encourage students to develop awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and of the role they can play and the contributions they can make in supporting and strengthening their communities.

You must complete the volunteer hours form and hand it in to guidance as you complete your hours.

Upcoming volunteer opportunities available to students:

Toys For Tots
The team here at HMCS Prevost, 19 Becher Street is reaching out for YOUR help. We desperately need volunteer help to pack and sort toys at our facility as we are beginning to get behind on our operational goals. Please reach out to your contacts and friends for assistance with this great cause! Please consider joining us any day between now and Christmas from 10 - 8pm as we try to accomplish our goal of delivering to over 4000 children this year. You may just show up anytime between 10 - 8 pm as there is lots of work still yet to be done!
