A.B. Lucas Secondary School
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on building connection, community, and belonging in a positive school culture.
These priorities and goals are important because students should feel safe and welcome in their classes and in our wider school community.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Creating opportunities to build and develop positive peer relationships among students.
- Building connections for all students to a caring adult in our school.
- Celebrating achievement and positive choices.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your student about their day at school: attendance, learning activities, social interactions, and participation in extracurricular activities.
- Stay involved with the school and our events through the Lucas Lookout weekly e-newsletter.
- Promote a growth mindset in your student; celebrate effort and encourage self-reflection.
- Model positive social behaviour including respect, empathy, and conflict resolution.
- Encourage inclusivity and celebrate differences: we all belong at A.B. Lucas.
