Lucas is home to the first DECA chapter in the Thames Valley District School Board. 

Members of the chapter have the opportunity to compete in local, provincial and international case competitions. 

Students will improve public speaking and leadership skills, apply concepts taught in business classes,

and develop a valuable network of contacts. The DECA season runs from October-February.

The SHSM in Business Studies is a specialized program which allows students to experience a range of business-focused learning opportunities while working towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).  Students who successfully complete their SHSM will have a special designation on their OSSD and will also receive an official SHSM Record documenting the credits earned, and the industry/business sector related certifications received.

The Technological Education Department offers courses in the area of:

  • Broad Based Technology
  • Design Technology
  • Communications Technology
  • Computer Engineering Technology
  • Construction Technology
  • Construction Engineering Technology (SHSM)

 

The SHSM in Technological Education focuses on the development of knowledge and skills related to residential construction. Students will gain hands-on experience using a variety of construction materials, processes, tools, and equipment; learn about building design and planning construction projects.
